How to Make Almond Milk With an Omega Juicer

Can You Make Almond Milk With an Omega Juicer?

Usually when we think of juicing, green drinks and fruit drinks come to mind. For those of us interested in nut milks, one of the exciting discoveries is that your juicer that makes green drinks and fruit drinks can make almond milk too! When it comes to making almond milk in a juicer, how does the Omega VRT350 stack up?

Slow Speed: The Omega VRT350 is a slow or low speed juicer. There are plenty of reasons why using a slow or low speed juicer is ideal for making almond milk. Some say a slow juicer prolongs the quality of the juice which may or may not be true. Who really knows? One thing is for sure, with a low speed juicer you won’t have to worry about whatever you are trying to juice going right into the pulp catcher due to the high speed.

Keep in mind, slow speed doesn’t mean sorry. When making almond milk you want to do so at a slow speed so the juicer has time to really process the almonds. In this way you get the maximum amount of almond milk from your almonds. While high speed juicers have slower settings the Omega VRT350 is made for slow juicing.

Quiet: The other thing you get with a slow speed juicer is quiet. The whole juicing process is a bit more peaceful. Sometimes you want the rush of your juicer sounding like an airplane taking off and sometimes you want it to be easy like Sunday morning. By comparison the Omega VRT350 is Sunday morning easy.

What else? The Omega VRT350 is also easy to clean, easy to set up and it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

What about drawbacks?  A drawback to the Omega VRT350 is that the pulp extractor may clog up from time to time. This can happen when using greens but when making almond milk with the Omega VRT 350 juicer this shouldn’t be a problem.

How to Make Almond Milk with an Omega Juicer?

In order to make almond milk with an Omega Juicer follow these steps:

STEP 1: Soften Your Almonds – Cover 1 cup of almonds with water and soak for six hours to overnight. If don’t want or have time to soak the almonds you could add the almonds to boiling water for 20 minutes prior to juicing. In any case you have to soak or boil the almonds prior to juicing otherwise you run the risk of breaking your juicer guaranteed.

STEP 2: Drain the Almonds & Add New Water- drain the soaked almonds and replace with filtered water. Use about 2 cups to 1 cup of almonds.

STEP 3: Turn on Your Juicer – start the engine of your Omega VRT350 juicer

STEP 4: Add Water & Almonds to the Juicer-  add  a small amount of almonds and water to your Omega VRT350 juicer. Be sure to use an even amount of almonds and water. You can use a small measuring cup or a ladle.

STEP 6: Sweet! Enjoy! You shouldn’t have to strain the almond milk from a juicer but you can if you like. After making your almond milk in the Omega VRT350 all that’s left now is to clean the juicer, store the almond milk and enjoy. If you want to sweeten the almond milk you can do so using agave nectar, dates, honey, chocolate or any other sweetener you like.
